Manchester United midfielder Bruno Miguel Fernandes has been named the Premier League Player Of The Month for December 2020 after beating Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah, Burnley’s Ben Mee, Westham United’s Thomas Soucek, teammate Marcus Rashford, Manchester City’s John Stones and Aston Villa pair Emiliano Martinez and El Ghazi.
The Portuguese midfield maestro was instrumental in wins against Westham United, Sheffield United, Southampton and Wolves scoring 3 goals and setting up teammates on 4 ocassions. A run which has propelled the Red Devils to the league summit as the former Sporting man goes on to make history as the first player to win the award 4 times in a year.
An elated Fernandes said: “Professionally it was a good year. As I have said, I want to achieve other type of trophies or awards, but of course I am really happy to make history [by winning Premier League Player of the Month four times in the same year].”
“I had a good month [in December]. I think three goals and four assists in that month was a complete month for a number ten, when you can score and assist your team mates.” Fernandes added.
Bruno Fernandes Player of the Month Award is an added momentum to Manchester United team that will be aiming to secure maximum point when they visit Liverpool at Anfield in order to cement their place in the hunt for the league title.
