Victims of Zidane

The French manager has been accused of some favouritism approach when it comes to some players and ruining youngsters in the process, one of the many he left for dead is Luka Jovic,a player that was destined for success at the Santiago Bernabeu saw his dreams cut short and sent back to Eintracht Frankfurt on loan.

In truth,Zidane’s preference has always been the likes of Isco,Lucas Vasquez,Marcelo who have all been inconsistent to some point and despite speaking highly of some players in press conferences,he’s refused to give them chances they deserve.

Here’s a look at four young players careers ruined by Zidane

Marcos Llorente was used well by former manager Santiago Solari and was considered a natural replacement to Casemiro, indeed a player of such talent getting minutes would help him improve a lot but he was sold in the summer of 2019 moreso to a direct rival,Atletico madrid shortly after Zidane’s return to the Santiago Bernabeu for his second tenure.

He’s playing incredibly well for Atletico and the player himself expressed no regrets leaving for direct rivals Atletico Madrid.

A multidimensional superstar indeed. Hakimi has developed into a terrific attacking full back at Inter Milan and can even play at the right flank, another victim of Zidane.
He was sent on loan to borussia Dortmund initially before he joined Inter Milan. The right flank position is currently begging to be filled at Real Madrid and with Zidane’s mistreatment of Gareth bale and Rodrygo being too young to play regularly, Marco Asensio being more suited to the right certainly does not leave any form of impression.

Real Madrid signed Theo hernandez from Deportivo Alaves in 2017 and has since then been loaned to AC Milan after failing to get minutes. After Zidane’s second return to the Spanish capital Ferland Mendy was bought and Theo’s move was made permanent to AC Milan without a buy back clause. He would have been a great replacement to the declining Marcelo now.

He was given his first team debut in 2016 by Zidane and has since then spent quality years on loan at Levante and Roma
His consistency in both Spain and Italy have seen his market value rise up and with Jovic returning back from loan in the summer,it’s hard to see any long term future of him with Real madrid especially if Zidane’s still at the helm.
Zidane’s a great manager no doubt but his partiality has made him chose players for his relation over quality which could cost him his Job. Four different players have proven themselves capable in different sides but sadly they have all been overlooked by Zidane.
The French manager has got to do more.
