Manchester United and Ajax Midfielder Donny Van De Beek has sworn to eke out a place for himself in the United starting 11. Van De Beek, who moved from Ajax, where he’d been since 2008 to join United last year has found playing time hard to come by. He made his competitive debut against Crystal Palace in Match Day 1 and scored a goal. It seemed like Donny had the world at his feet but he has only made 12 PL appearances after that.
United coach, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has come out time and again to assure Van De Beek that he is in his plans for the season but we have no idea whether Solksjaer is sweet talking him or he means it. Various reasons have been thrown around to justify Van De Beek’s exclusion from the United starting 11 ranging from the fact that Bruno is unbenchable to the fact that Van De Beek has found it difficult to adapt to United’s style of play calling for him to leave the team.
Van De Beek however has openly said that he is happy at United although frustrated but he is patiently waiting for the coach to show faith in him. Van De Beek scored 28 League goals in his last 3 appearances for Ajax but he has found it difficult to replicate the performances that earned him those numbers in England.
Van De Beek has shown he is a fighter. It however remains yet to be seen whether he will keep fighting or he will find somewhere else to take his fight to. As we see it now though, van De Beek is in no mood to give up.
