Nigerian Superstar and winner of the PL March 2021 Player of the Month award , Kelechi Iheanacho is getting his golden pen ready for a new bumper deal according to The Sun. Iheanacho, who joined the foxes in 2017 on a 5 year deal has a year left on his contract. Having had to play second fiddle to Star Striker Jamie Vardy, Iheanacho seems to have found his mojo for the foxes, scoring 5 goals in 3 Premier League appearances for them in March.
Iheanacho Kelechi Promise showed a lot of promise at the 2015 FIFA Under 17 World cup and he got a move to Manchester City. Being short if playing time, he found his way to Leicester City where he was used sparingly in League games but a lot in Cup games. Iheanacho, who is the African joint top scorer in the England FA Cup with 12 goals was rumoured to be on his way out of the King Power side as he had not performed up to expectations.
However, with his reinvention and metamorphosis into “Seniorman Kelz”, he might have become too indispensable to lose on a free. Wine-like Vardy does not seem to want to stop soon, so Iheanacho might need to do more than he is doing now to cement a place in the starting 11. Anyway, he is on fire at the moment and he could even more than cement his place in the starting 11 and become the heir to legend Jamie Vardy.
Head coach Brendan Rodgers is confident that the club will keep hold of the forward with a deal set to come together in the near future. Iheanacho currently earns something in the regioan of 70,000 pound per week and a new deal could see him bumped up into a 6 figure wage.
