Tottenham are working on the prospect of beating fellow London clubs Chelsea and Arsenal to the signing of Bayern Munich Centre Back Jerome Boateng.
Bayern Munich announced last week that they will not be renewing the 32 year Old’s contract at the end of the season and it has alerted a host of top clubs who will be having a field day wooing the Centre Back to join their team.
Boateng who has one year of football under his belt, after playing for Manchester City in 2011 is one of the most experienced and most decorated players in the world. HE was part of the 2013 treble winning squad and a part of the 2020 Treble winning squad as well. He is also a World Cup winner as he boasts of a host of other accolades.
Spurs are looking to bolster their defence, having conceded 35 goals in 31 Premier League games this season, and Boateng’s winning attitude would be perfect for Jose Mourinho’s revamped plans for the north London club.
Spurs have only bought one Centre Back since 2017 and that is a position they will be looking to bolster I the summer with veterans Vertonghen and Aldewiereld aging and looking out of shape.
Although Spurs reportedly are frontrunners, Mourinho faces pressure from clubs around Europe. Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona are also said to be interested in the player available on a free transfer.
