Ligue 1 side, Olympique Marseille have confirmed that Arsenal defender William Saliba will spend the upcoming season on loan with them.
Despite being the subject of a big money deal of about 27 Million pounds in 2019, the 20 year old is yet to make an appearance for the London side.
He was loaned back to St Etienne for the 2019-20 campaign and spent the second half of last season with Nice.
Technical director Edu was quoted to have announced via the club’s website: ‘Together with William, we have decided it will be good for his continued development to spend another season on loan.
Arsenal have therefore subsequently announced today that he will spending the 2021/22 season in France.
‘William joined us as an 18-year-old, and he is still only 20, so he is still developing all the time.
‘William is a player with strong natural ability and next season has the potential to be really beneficial for him at Marseille, a good club.
‘To play another season in Ligue 1 will be very important for his development.’
Meanwhile Arsenal have reportedly joined the race to sign Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham.
The England international has largely fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge since the arrival of new manager Thomas Tuchel in January despite finishing as the Blues joint top goalscorer last season.
The 23-year-old has made just two appearances for the European champions since February, and rated at £40million is being chased by the club he supported as a child.
