Ole signs new 3 year contract

In December 2018, Solskjaer was appointed as a caretaker manager before being named permanent manager on a three-year contract in March 2019. However, Despite failing to qualify for the Champions League at the end of the 2018-19 season, Solskjaer has supervised third and second-place Premier League finishes in each of his two full seasons.

“Everyone knows how passionate I am about this club, and I am thrilled to have signed this new deal,” Solskjaer stated. We have constructed a squad with a nice combination of youth and experienced players who are eager for victory, and it is an exciting time for Manchester United.

“I am surrounded by a terrific coaching team, and we are all eager to tackle the next step in our adventure. Manchester United wants to win the greatest and best trophies, and we’re all working towards that goal. We’ve progressed both on and off the field, and we’ll continue to do so in the coming seasons.

“I can’t wait to play in front of a sold-out Old Trafford crowd and start this campaign.”

“Ole and his colleagues have worked relentlessly to lay the foundations for long-term success on the pitch,” United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward added.

“The effects of that have become increasingly obvious over the last two seasons, and we are all excited to watch this great team evolve in the years ahead.

“What’s particularly pleasing is how this growth has been made with a mix of young, homegrown players and top-tier imports, all while playing attacking football in the Manchester United style.
We are more sure than ever that we are on the right track under Ole’s leadership.”

Despite having enjoyed successful domestic seasons, United has lost four semi-finals and a final under Solskjaer, and the club has yet to win a trophy since 2017.

On two occasions, United pondered replacing Solskjaer with Mauricio Pochettino, but Solskjaer led turnarounds in form before securing top-four finishes.

Solskjaer has had enviable support from United in the transfer window, with the club investing £392.6 million in new signings while he was in charge.
