Mkhitaryan expectant of great relationship with Mou at Roma

Mkhitaryan breaks his silence on the possibility of playing under Mourinho once more.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan had a rough time at Manchester United under manager Jose Mourinho, who was a tough leader. As a result, he was eventually released by the club and acquired by Arsenal in a swap deal that saw Alexis Sanchez move in the opposite direction.

Last year, the Armenian spoke up about some of his disagreements with the Portuguese coach, which he described as “a nightmare.” When Mourinho saw me at breakfast one morning, he told me, “Because of you, the press criticizes me,” he told Forza Roma in an interview.

‘I responded by saying, ‘Really, Mister?’ ‘It’s not something I’m doing on purpose.’

‘When I was at Manchester United, there were paparazzi following me around three days a week.
They recorded you as you got into the car and even as you dressed”.

They were waiting for you when you arrived at the sports center,’ says the author. Every action was meticulously planned.’ After being asked if Mourinho was a difficult coach to work under, Mkhitaryan didn’t hold back in his reaction.

‘Yes, I think I could say yes,’ he said. ‘He’s a natural winner,’ says the Armenian. He wants you to succeed, and you comply with his requests. ‘It’s a challenging situation for anyone.
There have been disagreements and all, but they have not had a significant impact on the quality of the work or the three trophies that he won.’

As it is, Mourinho and Mkhitaryan will work together at Roma to help the club succeed now that they have rejoined in Italy. Since moving to Serie A, Mkhitaryan has succeeded and has established himself as one of the team’s most valuable assets under Paulo Fonseca.

Nonetheless, he had some misgivings about how he and Mourinho would interact in the future, as was to be expected. In recent weeks, he has spoken about the possibility of working with Mourinho, even stating that the Portuguese coach does not care how his style of play is seen by other coaches.

‘Mourinho is a very ambitious person who is always looking to win.
He doesn’t care whether we play good or awful football; he only cares about the three points,’ Mkhitaryan explained. Everybody knows he’s won nearly everything there is to win in this world.

« I am not interested in discussing the past; we talked it together and started again from the beginning on a different level.
I am aware of what he expects from his players, and I am prepared to give my all.’

Mourinho will be hopeful that the Armenian can help the team achieve their goal of finishing in the top four and re-entering Roma into the Champions League.
