Arsenal supporters reacted quickly to Tottenham’s Eric Dier’s tweet ridiculing the Premier League’s decision to postpone the north London derby.
Arsenal’s plea to postpone the game was approved, despite the Gunners having just 12 senior outfield players available owing to injuries, the AFCON, and Covid.
Fans and analysts were unimpressed with the decision, given that just one player was absent due to the virus and the Gunners had allowed two players to depart on loan.
Tottenham confirmed the news through their official Twitter account, and Dier responded with a graphic of a guy unable to count up from one.
Arsenal supporters quickly responded, with one posting ‘are you attempting to calculate how many times you’ve cost Spurs since you joined?’
Another tweeted: ‘Are you keeping track of the trophies you’ve won with Tottenham?’
When the game does go place, the controversy will undoubtedly add to the already charged atmosphere.
