Iheanacho responds flawlessly to the Messi vs. Ronaldo debate

Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho has stated that he is unable to pick between Lionel Messi of PSG and Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United.

For more than a decade, Messi and Ronaldo have dominated major individual accolades in European football. Despite being on the wrong side of 30, the two athletes continue to generate controversy throughout the world.

In recent years, several players, coaches, and analysts have expressed their preference for Messi or Ronaldo. Choosing between the two, though, is not an option for Leicester striker Iheanacho.

When asked to select between the two, he showed appreciation for the combo. In this regard, the former Manchester City star told NFF TV:

“Both. You’re going to need a few of these to make it.”
Between them, the two players have won a total of 12 Ballon d’Or honors (Messi has seven, Ronaldo has five). They’ve also won nine Champions League titles, with Ronaldo holding a 5-4 advantage over Messi.

How have Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo performed this season for their respective clubs?
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, now 34 and 36 years old, are nearing the twilight of their spectacular careers. Nonetheless, the Argentine and Ronaldo became the summer’s most talked-about players after joining PSG and Manchester United, respectively.

Messi’s time at PSG has not been as easy as he anticipated thus far. The Argentina international has six goals and five assists in 16 games across all competitions, but his progress has been hampered by physical concerns. Only one of the strikes came in the league, while the other five came in as many Champions League games.

Mauricio Pochettino’s team, on the other hand, now lead Ligue 1 with 50 points after 21 games. Additionally, they have secured a spot in the Champions League Round of 16 against La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo has been sensational for Manchester United. This season, the former Juventus attacker has 14 goals and three assists in 21 games in all competitions for Ralf Rangnick’s squad.

United, on the other hand, are now sixth in the Premier League with 32 points from 20 games. Manchester United are 24 points adrift of arch-rivals and table-toppers Manchester City, despite having two games in hand.

The Portugal international’s presence is believed to be a liability for United this season. Bruno Fernandes and co. may be better off without the 36-year-old, as has previously been stated.

Nonetheless, it goes without saying that Ronaldo nearly single-handedly propelled United to the Champions League Round of 16 by scoring late victories and equalisers.
