Cristiano Ronaldo has provided a lift to Manchester United supporters by sharing photographs of ‘the winners’ from Carrington’s training session on Instagram.
The Portuguese attacker was absent from United’s FA Cup and Premier League matches against Aston Villa, with coach Ralf Rangnick confirming his absence from Friday’s training session.
Things are looking good for the Red Devils, though, when Ronaldo uploaded a photograph of himself working with long-term absentee Paul Pogba.
The five time Balon d’Or winner captioned this image on Monday afternoon, as he, Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford, and others create a pose for the camera.
Ralf Rangnick stated Ronaldo did not practice last Friday and was instead given time to heal in preparation for Wednesday’s match against Brentford.
Rashford and Pogba images will also come as a comfort to United supporters, given both players have been absent from the team in recent weeks.
The English forward missed the journey to Villa Park due to a dead leg, but the snapshot shows he is back in action at Carrington as well.
Since United’s Champions League encounter against Atalanta in early November, Pogba has been sidelined.
Rangnick updated the Manchester United website on January 6th, stating that the French star is reportedly ahead of schedule with his return.
Rangnick stated: ‘As far as I am aware, I was told a week ago that he would be out of commission for at least another four or five weeks.
‘I saw him this morning before training; he was in the locker room, and I’m hoping he returns soon.
He is now not a member of the training group, and even if he returns in two, three, or four weeks, it will take time.
‘It’s one thing to be ready for training, but he also has to be fit for matches and competitions in the Premier League or Champions League, which will take time.’
