Man United willing to sign Dembele on a one-year deal with Barcelona on one condition

Manchester United are allegedly contemplating a January bid for Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele. The Frenchman is expected to quit the club after contract extension discussions broke down.

Dembele’s contract is scheduled to expire at the end of the season, and Barcelona have allegedly advised the winger to go after he rejected the club’s latest contract offer. Manchester United are eager to sign the winger this month but are unwilling to pay a transfer price, according to SPORT.

Barcelona are apparently eager to sell Dembele for €20 million and have offered the Frenchman to Manchester United and Newcastle. However, the winger is anticipated to attract attention from a number of clubs this month, with Juventus, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich all all interested in signing him.

Dembele has made six league appearances and contributed two assists this season. The Frenchman has battled injuries during his time at the Catalan club, making just 130 appearances in all competitions since signing in 2017.

Manchester United are trying to boost their offensive options in the coming months, as the club anticipates Anthony Martial’s departure. According to reports, the Frenchman is upset with his lack of playing time under Rangnick and is pursuing a move away from the club. Sevilla in Spain are apparently interested in signing the attacker on loan, but Manchester United are seeking a permanent transfer.

“He and his agents have been instructed to vacate the premises” – Barcelona director asks that Manchester United target Dembele vacate the premises.

Mateu Alemany, Barcelona’s director of football, urged that Dembele leave the club if he does not wish to dedicate his future to the Blaugrana. As he stated:

“In July, we initiated contact with Dembele’s agency. Six or seven months have elapsed since then, during which time we spoke and Barcelona made several proposals. We have made every effort to keep the player with us. Offers have been offered that his agents have consistently refused. Now, eleven days before his contract enters its last phase, the club understands that the player is not interested in renewing and is not dedicated to Barcelona’s goal.”

“He has been advised that he and his representatives must quit the club and seek a transfer by January 31st. Our coaches’ assessment of the sports scenario is that we do not want to have a player who is not committed to the project. And being rejected is a natural outcome of this entire process. It is not the club’s responsibility to determine these matters; it is the coach’s. And he has our full backing because it appears to us to be a perfectly rational position.”
